Emotional Awareness Questionnaire (EAQ) PART 1

Please answer these questions as honestly as possible. The point is not to look good, but to find out for yourself where you stand in terms of emotional awareness. When you have completed this part you will need to go onto PART 2 If you have been given a free access code please enter this in the CODE box and ignore the payment request. 2. Sometimes, when I find myself with an emotional person, I am very calm and without feeling
3. At times, talking to strangers, I feel sensations like palpitations, stomach cramps, dry throat or difficulty breathing
4. Sometimes I am flooded by emotions that disorganise and confuse me
5. From time to time I am aware of having feelings of anger, from slight irritation to rage
6. If another person is emotional, I can usually tell what they are feeling
7. I enjoy situations in which people have strong emotions of love, joy or hope (eg at a wedding)
8. Sometimes, after a difficult time with another person, I feel as if parts of my body are numb
9. I take one or more over-the-counter drugs to deal with headaches, indigestion etc
10. I know I have strong feelings but can't talk to others about them
11. I am aware of having feelings of fear, from apprehension to terror
12. Sometimes I can feel other people's feelings in my body
13. I am appreciated by others because I know how to cool down emotional situations
14. I can kill a small animal like a mouse or a chicken without feeling anything in particular
15. I am often jumpy and irritable and can't help it.
16. I find I lie about my feelings because I am embarrassed to discuss them
17. I am aware of having strong feelings of love and joy
18. I often do things for others because I sympathise with them and can't say no
19. I am good at helping people sort out their emotions because I understand why they are feeling them
